inpatient settings

I am currently providing bedside music therapy sessions, small group sessions, and programming for staff wellness, at local hospitals for patients with cancer, brain injury, dementia, and developmental disabilities.

I co-treat with occupational, physical, and speech therapists when appropriate, and use the appropriate tools to measure progress of patients’ pain perception, motor skill, communication, and quality of life.

I provide all instruments/equipment and follows strict infection control and HIPAA rules.

I’m interested in multidisciplinary research projects that seek to incorporate the arts into healthcare settings. Reach out if you’d like to collaborate!

“KATE IS AMAZING!! SHE LOVES WHAT SHE DOES AND INSPIRES CONSUMERS TO PARTICIPATE. WHEN WE FOUND OUT KATE WAS AT MMC, WE WERE SO PLEASED. SHE WOULD STOP BY EVERY WEEK TO SEE MY SON BEN IN HIS HOSPITAL ROOM AND IT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF HIS WEEK. WHEN HE WOULD SEE HER COMING, HE KNEW “EVERY LITTLE THING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT” (THREE LITTLE BIRDS BY BOB MARLEY). ”

“KATE IS A COMPASSIONATE, TALENTED, FOCUSED AND INSIGHTFUL THERAPIST AND AN EXCELLENT TEAM MEMBER WHO POSSESSES A HIGH DEGREE OF RELIABILITY. PATIENTS RESPONDED VERY FAVORABLY TO KATE’S INTERVENTIONS AS SHE FACILITATED MEANINGFUL AND ENJOYABLE SESSIONS, WHICH HELPED THEM TO COMMUNICATE AND FIND COMFORT DURING TIMES OF PAIN AND DISTRESS.”
